Accomplishments


Anna Wintour embarked on major changes at Vogue, transforming it- and her- into an unstoppable force in the $160 billion fashion industry. Wintour also restored Vogue's buzz which had been long absent. Vogue was pulled out from what had become ‘the beige years’ and the spotlight was placed firmly back on fashion and the women who flick through the pages. Anna’s changes in many ways reinforced advances in the status of women.



Wintour is also a philanthropist and donates a lot of money to charities and organizations. She helped raise money for the Twin Towers fund after the September 11th terrorist attacks. With the Council of Fashion Designers of America, helped create a new fund to encourage and support up-and-coming designers.Each year, she organizes a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's costume department, which over the years has brought in some $50 million.She raised over $10 million for AIDS charities since 1990, by organizing various high profile benefits
